“L’abbraccio più forte”, by Valerio Berruti
On March 2020, the Italian artist Valerio Berruti launched the initiative “L’abbraccio più forte” ("The strongest embrace"), with which he undertook to donate one of his drawings to anyone who had made a donation of at least 300 euros to the "Fondazione Nuovo Ospedale Alba-Bra Onlus ", to deal with the COVID-19 emergency.
Donations came from all over Italy and also from abroad, involving countries such as: Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Japan and Australia.
The initiative [1] ended with the creation of 768 drawings and a book that made it possible to raise over 260,000 euros for the charitable cause.
The works created for the project became the frames for a video and Valerio invited musicians from all over the world to share an original song that could become the soundtrack.
I decided to participate [2] with a song, "I See You", which I was just finishing, adapted to fit within 2 minutes. Here is the result:
