Those who know me are aware I like to mess around with all sorts of instruments: real ones, virtual ones, strings, brass, drums… if it makes noise and works in MIDI, I’ll give it a shot. But somehow, I always end up back with the guitar.

It’s my idea sketchpad, my therapy, my happy (and sometimes chaotic) place. And this new album? It was born right there, between one messy draft and the next.

During a longer-than-planned summer break I dug into my dusty folder of guitar sketches. The goal was to clean things up.

Spoiler: I didn’t.

Instead, I rediscovered a bunch of raw acoustic ideas that, surprisingly, still held up. No cinematic strings, no thunderous drums, just guitar. Sometimes clumsy, but honest. So I decided to give them a bit of love and a second life.

The result is a collection made entirely with acoustic guitars. I say “guitars” because even though it’s always the same instrument, I layered, chopped, processed, added effects… I basically did a bit of production magic on pieces that weren’t meant to ever leave the house.

A few examples?

  • On “Just watt and see”, I echoed the main melody using artificial harmonics, because I clearly enjoy making things difficult for myself.
  • On “Pure”, I ended up rewriting most of the melody during production.
  • In “Deja-vu”, I added a subtle line that wasn’t there in the draft but now feels essential.

And “Purple foreshadows”? That one’s special: I recorded the entire second half from scratch, adding four brand-new guitar tracks.

As for the tunings… who knows? Kidding (kind of). Most of the rhythmic and percussive parts are in DADGAD, overdubs are usually in standard tuning, and some tracks play around with Open D and Open E. But don’t ask me which track is in which: I lost track around my second coffee.

The album is meant to be a sonic journey from start to finish: short tracks, I promise! You can find it on all major streaming platforms and for free on my SoundCloud, because honestly, I care more about sharing than selling.

Have a listen, if you’re curious. And if you like it, awesome!
